There’s a difference between just getting (legally) lifted… and getting it right.
Every month, I take a step back and focus on what I’m actually reaching for. The things I keep coming back to again and again.
And April in Japan hits different. The cherry blossoms show up, the weather gets warm enough to lounge outside, and suddenly you remember you have a life outside your blanket. And then, quietly but confidently, 420 rolls in.
So this month’s lineup leans into that balance of light, social, sunshine highs, easy, outdoor-friendly vibes, and just enough heavy hitters for when the sun goes down and you’re done being perceived. Because if we’re doing this in Japan’s evolving altnoid space… we’re doing it with taste.
The Daily Drivers

(Functional, smooth, socially acceptable energy)
These are the ones you bring to hanami and still manage to hold a conversation with someone’s coworker you just met five minutes ago. Spring highs should feel light and sparkly. Something that enhances the day without hijacking it. So if you’re aiming for that “I feel amazing, but I can still be a person” zone… this is where you live.
These are the products I’d recommend to someone who says, “I want to feel good. Not gone.” Keep in mind that if you don’t want to accidentally get too baked, puff these sporadically and in small doses rather than multiple big hits at once.
Kush JP’s SUPER Sativa – Best for: sunny days, social energy, spontaneous laughing fits
This one is pure sunshine. It gives me the giggles, plasters a smile on my face, and somehow keeps me lightly functioning while still very much there. Not overwhelming, not jittery — just happy, bright, and easy to exist in. If April had a personality, this would be it. Bonus too is that it’s CBN-free so you can continue to to use it beyond the upcoming CBN-ban.
Kush JP’s CBD/CBG/CBN 3 Pod Set – Best for: clarity, calm focus, low-anxiety days (on sale until May 25!)
Not everything has to get you baked. This set has been quietly carrying me through the month, especially on days when I want to feel good without going fully lifted. It takes the edge off in all the right ways — less anxiety, less body tension, a clearer head, and just enough calm focus to move through the day a little more smoothly. It’s also perfect for giving your tolerance a bit of a reset… so when you do go in at night, it actually hits the way it should.
The pod format makes it even better. With the built-in battery, there’s no setup, just pick it up and go. It’s one of those small conveniences that ends up making a big difference, especially when you’re out and about or just don’t feel like dealing with extra pieces.

KUSH JP 3-Pack: SUPER Sativa, SUPER Indica & Afghan Kush Hybrid (3 x 1ml)
¥ 38,440 ¥ 30,000
There’s also a recreational version of the 3-pack mentioned above and it’s also on sale right now. If you’ve been eyeing a couple of these already, this is a very good deal. My favorite hybrid is in here, and having both a sativa and indica option on hand just makes life easier.
Get Properly Stoned
(Not for meetings. Not for multitasking.)
This is where we stop pretending we have plans. This is your post-hanami, post-sunset, “I did enough today” energy. If the daily drivers are about enhancing the day, these are about ending it properly.
Kush JP’s Couch Lock – Best for: full-body melt, deep relaxation, 420 indulgence
I can’t get enough of this one. It’s deep, heavy, and euphoric in that slow, warm, sinking way that makes everything feel okay. This was my 420 closer — and it was a perfect choice. I also stocked up while it’s still around (and on sale!) pre-CBN ban… because this one is going to be missed.
Knockout’s Gravity – Best for: slow, immersive, head-meets-body calm
It’s back. And it’s still that good. Thoughts soften, body loosens, and everything just… slows. It’s also CBN-free which is handy.
Accessories That Elevate the Ritual

A good session isn’t just about what you’re using — it’s how you’re using it. Especially in spring, when you’re moving between inside and outside, cozy and social, day and night… your setup matters more than you think.
Sailor Moon Wand Battery – My dream battery. I haven’t found anyone selling these in Japan yet, which feels like a personal attack. If you know, please tell me immediately. Because yes, I absolutely want to transform into my final form before taking a hit.
Car Key Battery – This one is actually available in Japan — and it’s fun. Super cute, super discreeet… until you start hitting your car key in public and someone clocks you. Still. Worth it.
Makeup aka Cartridge Stand – Sometimes they have these at Daiso, sometimes you have to head to Daiso’s big sister, Threeppy. It’s cute fold holding makeup but even cuter for holding your vape carts, pens and packaging.
Firedog Lock Smell Proof Bag – I like this because it’s smell proof (some of those terpenes can smell suspicioiusly like the real thing!) and because it locks. That is important if you have kids (in my opinion) because doing everything you can to keep your treats away from them is bare-minimum.
Snacks That Pair Well
Because at some point, the inner raccoon wakes up. And the very hungry, slightly feral raccoon inside of us should be deeply committed to finding the perfect snack Citrus terps? I want salty. Earthy blends? Dark chocolate, no question. Sweet, botanical vibes? Something crisp to balance it out. And if we’re being honest… sometimes the raccoon just wants junk food.
This month’s pairings are simple, reliable, and a little bit elite:
Dried Sausage – Is it healthy? No. Delicious? Satisfying? I rest my case and the heart wants what the heart wants.
Sour Patch Kids (bulk) – Speaking of the heart, sometimes it wants enough Sour Patch Kids to last the entire summer. 5lbs of Sour Patch Kids to be precise.
Calbee Sweet Potato Chips – Are these healthier? I don’t know. They’re delicious. They taste like I meant to get healthy but got high instead…
Soundtrack of the Month
Your experience shifts depending on what’s playing. My music tastes are all over the map, from deep soul to rebellious punk. But when it’s time to chill, I want to chill. Here’s what I’ve been vibing to this month:

What’s Coming Next
April was all about enjoying the moment… but May is already looking very interesting.
I’ve got a few new things on deck that I’m genuinely excited about — some new-to-me products, some deeper dives into current favorites, and a couple of pieces I think you’re really going to want to keep an eye on.
Here’s what’s coming up:
- Full review of Tensuke’s Biscotti — because this one deserves a proper breakdown
- A deeper dive into Kush JP’s SUPER Sativa — my current daytime personality in liquid form
- Trying out Gohoya’s Peach Mango — very curious to see if the flavor matches the hype
- And something a little different… testing out TEMP’s flower/herb line, which I’ve been meaning to explore for a while now
If you’ve been following along, you already know I don’t rush reviews — I like to actually live with a product a bit first. So these will be thoughtful, honest, and probably a little too detailed (as always). And if any of those are on your radar… stay tuned for May 👀
Final Thoughts
April is one of those rare months where everything just lines up. We’ve got the good weather. Good energy. A reason to go outside… and a reason to come back in and fully relax.
If you take anything from this list, let it be this: you don’t always need more — you just need the right one for the moment. And if you try any of these, tell me what hits for you. I’m always curious.
And whatever you choose — enjoy, keep it legal, and stay lifted. 🍃
