Review: Kush JP BLAST

I tested BLAST on the most aggressively “Sativa Saturday” afternoon imaginable: sunny skies, windows open, music on, gardening to do, and absolutely no desire to raw dog reality completely sober. I can safely say, this may be the most versatile liquid Kush JP has released yet.

Within two puffs, I could already feel it creeping in behind my eyes and through my chest. By the third puff, though, something genuinely weird happened. My shoulders loosened. My chest opened up. I stood up straighter. I was wide awake.  I’ve never had another liquid hit me quite like that before. And then? Holy shit.

Five minutes later, I was absolutely blasted. Gardening became euphoric. Music sounded unbelievable. The breeze rolling through the windows felt AMAZING.

This HHBD-heavy Durban Poison-inspired blend hits fast, climbs quickly, and somehow manages to feel both intensely euphoric and surprisingly functional depending on how you use it. One puff can add a bright little glow to your afternoon. Three or four? Godspeed, astronaut. Because you’re about to blast off.

I’m obsessed.

BLAST Review First Impressions: Durban Poison Fans Are Going to Love This

Durban Poison is often called the “espresso of cannabis,” and that comparison makes perfect sense. The flavor on BLAST is ridiculously good. Sweet pine, spicy herbal notes, earthy sativa skunkiness, and maybe even a tiny little citrus edge.

Kush JP used cannabis-derived terpenes (CDTs) here, and you can absolutely tell. BLAST doesn’t have that vague artificial “kinda fruity” terp taste some carts fall into. This tastes alive. Sweet pine, spicy herbal notes, earthy funk, and maybe even a tiny little citrus edge hiding underneath everything. Bright, fresh, slightly wild, and shockingly close to the real thing. Well actually, it tastes exactly the same as the real thing while still staying within legal limits.

If you’re the type of person who misses that classic energetic sativa flavor profile, BLAST absolutely scratches that itch. And the effects match that terp profile perfectly. Everything feels slightly funnier, lighter, more immersive, and more interesting on this stuff. It creates what I can only describe as happy brain. I found myself bouncing between being super social and goofy one minute, then completely hyperfocused while gardening the next.

That’s actually one of my favorite things about BLAST: it adapts beautifully to whatever kind of day you’re having.

BLAST Timeline: Ohhh… We’re Going Up

Puff 1–2

Right away, the Durban Poison terps hit HARD. By the second puff, I could already feel it starting behind the eyes and in my chest.

Puff 3

This is where things got weird in the best way possible. My shoulders loosened. My chest opened up. I stood up straighter. My body decided it was time to fully wake up and start living life properly.

I don’t think I’ve ever had another liquid hit me with that kind of physical uplifting effect before.

5 Minutes Later

Holy shit.

Absolutely blasted.

Not in a sleepy way either. More like soaring. Gardening suddenly felt euphoric. Music sounded unbelievable. I started vacuuming the house and somehow became deeply emotionally invested in doing a fantastic job of it. And I usually hate cleaning.

So yeah. We were fully airborne at this point.

20–30 Minutes

This was probably the peak for me.

Pure happy brain energy. Everything felt brighter, funnier, more immersive, and just… better. BLAST somehow made me feel super chatty and social while also becoming completely hyperfocused on gardening for an hour straight.

This feels like the sweet spot for festivals, gaming, sightseeing, music sessions, wandering around Tokyo pretending you’re in an indie movie, all of that.

Around 1 Hour

This is where heavier or higher-tolerance users will probably start thinking about a little top-up.

Lighter users could probably coast comfortably for another hour or so, but for me, this was the point where I realized how insanely well BLAST pairs with other carts.

This thing becomes an absolute monster booster with the Dual Cartridge setup.

The Fade-Out

One thing I REALLY loved about BLAST was how cleanly everything faded back down afterward. Everything just slowly softened and settled naturally, which honestly reminded me a lot of the real thing in the best possible way.

Dosage Matters More Than You Think

Here’s the dangerous part, though: BLAST can feel lighter than it actually is. Because the feeling stays so energetic and mentally active, it’s incredibly easy to keep puffing without fully realizing how elevated you’re getting.

One puff gives a lovely little glow to the day. Two puffs turn your Saturday into an adventure. Three or four, and suddenly you’re spiritually bonding with your Spotify playlist while appreciating clouds (because your head feels like it’s in them). This thing can absolutely launch you if you let it.

The nice part is that the onset happens quickly enough that it’s easy to tailor your experience. Beginners can comfortably start with one puff, wait a while, and slowly build from there.

Or…

You can let her rip, space cadet.

The Dual Cartridge Potential Is Honestly Kind of Insane

Now THIS is the part that really excited me. BLAST is phenomenal on its own. Like, genuinely one of the most fun liquids I’ve tried in a long time. But once I started experimenting, this thing became even more interesting. And with a dual cartridge battery? Oh my goodness…

BLAST pairs beautifully with almost everything.

It acts almost like an HHBD booster sitting beneath other liquids, adding a bright, euphoric lift without completely overpowering the original vibe. I found an absolutely gorgeous sweet spot pairing it with the Afghan Kush SUPER Hybrid, while combining it with SUPER Sativa felt like the kind of decision that should probably require NASA approval first.

For heavier or higher-tolerance users especially, I could honestly see BLAST quietly becoming one of the most versatile liquids in your lineup.

The Comedown Is Beautifully Clean

One thing I REALLY appreciated about BLAST was how naturally everything faded back down afterward.

No lingering fog, grogginess, or weird chemical “stuck” feeling hours later. The comedown reminded me a lot of the real thing in that sense because of how smooth, easy, and surprisingly clean.

For lighter users, especially, I could see this becoming the perfect daytime or weekend liquid. You could hit your sweet spot during a lunch picnic, spend the afternoon blissfully elevated, then float back down to Earth in time for dinner with the in-laws later.

That said… I probably wouldn’t recommend smoking this right before bed unless you enjoy accidentally turning a “tiny little puff before sleep” into a full-blown side quest at 4:20 in the morning.

Final Verdict

Kush JP’s BLAST might be one of the most fun HHBD liquids I’ve tried so far.

It’s euphoric, social, sensory-enhancing, deeply sativa-coded, and somehow versatile enough to work as either a cheerful daytime companion or a full-send rocket ship depending on how you want to use it.

At lower doses, BLAST feels like a great day in cartridge form. At higher doses… clear the skies, space cadet.

BLAST officially launches on May 27th. Get it here in 0.5ml / 1.0 ml / 1.0 ml disposable pod.

And as always, keep it legally lifted 🍃
