Review: Kush JP Just Chill

I’ve always been an indica girl at heart. Give me a good body buzz, a blissfully quiet brain, and absolutely nowhere to be, and I’m a happy little camper. So when Kush JP announced Just Chill, featuring 30% CBX, 10% CRDB, and Granddaddy Purple terpenes, my interest was piqued. A proper head high without my brain deciding to host seventeen conversations at once? A lovely body buzz without becoming permanently attached to the furniture? Oh, darling. You have my attention.

I’d already fallen pretty hard for Kush JP’s BOLT, but Just Chill promised something different: a rich, strain-like flavour and a mellow, indica-leaning experience. After getting acquainted with it, I can safely say this one has made Mary Jane a very happy girl.

What’s Inside: Just Chill Breakdown

Kush JP has put together an interesting little cocktail here, pairing CBX with CRDB and a generous helping of CBD.

  • CBD (31%): The largest declared component of the blend.
  • CBX (30%): A substantial concentration of the cannabinoid responsible for some of my favourite recent experiences.
  • CRDB (10%): Included to complement CBX and, according to Kush, help create a smoother, more rounded high.
  • CBG and H4CBD: Additional cannabinoids listed in the formula.
  • Terpenes: Granddaddy Purple, featuring a CDT × BDT profile.

Kush describes Just Chill as beginning with a relatively quick cerebral onset before gradually developing into an indica-dominant body experience. The company also says the lower concentration of CRDB helps soften some of CBX’s sharper qualities. That’s the intention, anyway. Research on these newer cannabinoids remains limited, so I wouldn’t pretend we know precisely which ingredient produces which sensation. What I can tell you is how the finished blend feels to me.

Taste & Terpenes

Oh, these terps. These lovely, lovely terps. Just Chill uses a Granddaddy Purple profile, and Kush JP has done a beautiful job capturing that deep, unmistakably cannabis-like character I’ve come to appreciate from their cartridges.

The first puff brings rich grape and dark berry notes, followed by earthy, grassy, slightly herbal undertones. It’s fruity, certainly, but there’s nothing candy-like about it. Think ripe grapes with a distinctly green, botanical edge rather than something you’d find in the sweets aisle. And I actually caught myself smacking my lips after that first puff. Whether it was the flavour or something about the oil itself, I couldn’t quite decide. Either way, it made a rather lovely first impression.

The profile is also described as myrcene-rich, which fits nicely with those earthy, herbal characteristics. More importantly, it tastes convincing. Kush’s CDTs rarely disappoint me, and Just Chill is no exception.

Effects & Experience

0–10 Minutes: A Promising Beginning

I settled onto the sofa with my Shiba Inu, who immediately interpreted my arrival as an invitation to occupy approximately 80% of the available space. Fair enough. The first few minutes were mostly about enjoying those gorgeous terpenes. There wasn’t an enormous immediate rush, although I could sense something beginning to shift. Nothing particularly dramatic, just the early suggestion that my evening was about to become considerably more pleasant.

10–30 Minutes: My Brain Takes the Evening Off

Somewhere around the 10–15-minute mark, I noticed my thoughts beginning to slow down. And I mean that in the nicest possible way. I’ve had CBX experiences where a strong cerebral buzz sends my brain wandering down a dozen different rabbit holes. Just Chill seemed to be doing the opposite. My mind was becoming wonderfully quiet, and I wasn’t particularly concerned about anything.

By the half-hour mark, a gentle sinking sensation had settled into my body, too. My shoulders felt relaxed, my limbs were comfortable, and I was perfectly happy sitting there with the dog. At one point, I remembered there was laundry that wasn’t going to wash itself. I considered dealing with it for approximately three seconds before deciding that the laundry and I could discuss our differences tomorrow.

30–60 Minutes: Properly Lifted

Now we’re talking. As the effects continued building, the cerebral buzz became considerably more noticeable. I was properly stoned by around the hour mark, but the experience remained wonderfully comfortable.

What I particularly enjoyed was that Just Chill didn’t make me feel completely couch-locked. I could get up, wander into the kitchen, grab a drink, or carry on with whatever I was doing. Everything simply felt a little less demanding. And that, for me, is where this product really shines. If I’m already relaxing, it makes that relaxation feel even better. If I’m pottering around the house, I can continue doing so without feeling particularly bothered by anything.

Of course, being capable of productivity and being interested in productivity are two entirely different things.

One Hour & Beyond: Netflix Is Calling

Eventually, Netflix began looking increasingly appealing. My Shiba Inu had already made himself comfortable, and I wasn’t about to argue with someone who clearly had his evening priorities sorted. Meanwhile, my mind felt fantastic. There was a definite head high, accompanied by a lovely body buzz, but I wasn’t experiencing that overwhelming heaviness I sometimes associate with stronger indica-style products.

Instead, I felt content. Really, really content. It’s the kind of experience that makes me long for a rainy evening, a cozy blanket, and the sound of water against the windows. I can also imagine Just Chill pairing beautifully with a body-scan meditation after a warm bath, although that’s an experiment for another evening. For now, Netflix and the sofa were doing a perfectly respectable job.

The Next Day

One thing I particularly appreciated was waking up the next morning feeling completely normal. CBX can occasionally leave me a little groggy the following day, so I’m always curious to see whether I’ll wake up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed or need to negotiate with my pillow for another hour. Thankfully, Just Chill gave me none of that. No lingering heaviness, no foggy head, and no noticeable after-effects. Just a good night’s sleep behind me and a perfectly ordinary morning ahead. Lovely!

Who Is Just Chill For?

I’d put Just Chill firmly in the indica-leaning hybrid category in terms of its subjective effects. It’s particularly appealing if you enjoy a noticeable head high but prefer your thoughts to become quieter rather than busier. I can see it suiting experienced users who enjoy relaxed evenings, music, movies, meditation, or unwinding without feeling completely sedated. It also has enough character to appeal to anyone who appreciates authentic, cannabis-forward terpene profiles.

One important caveat: my tolerance is exceptionally high, and I’d been consuming altnoids fairly regularly during testing. What felt comfortably manageable to me could feel much stronger to someone else.

And with 30% CBX and 10% CRDB, I wouldn’t automatically recommend this as someone’s first cannabinoid experience. And if it is, start with a small amount, allow plenty of time before considering more.

Hardware & Presentation

Kush JP continues to impress me with its hardware, and I love that there’s actually some choice involved.

Depending on your preference, you can choose from three cartridge styles: a CCELL EVOMAX atomizer, a full-glass atomizer, or an adjustable-airflow version. I went with adjustable airflow this time because, well, I like having options! A tighter draw brings out those lovely, concentrated terpene flavours, while opening things up gives me a smoother, airier puff.

The oil itself is a gorgeous, clear golden colour with a satisfyingly thick consistency. Even the little air bubble takes its sweet time making its way through. Very fitting for something called Just Chill, don’t you think?

As for performance, I have absolutely no complaints. No leaking, no clogging, no fiddling around trying to get things working. Just smooth, consistent draws and all that lovely Granddaddy Purple flavour.

Final Thoughts

I thought I loved BOLT, and I still do. But as an indica girl at heart, Just Chill has absolutely stolen my attention.

There’s something rather wonderful about a product that lets me enjoy a proper head high while feeling so comfortable in my own little world. I’m perfectly happy curled up on the sofa, scratching my Shiba Inu behind the ears, with absolutely no urge to get up and do anything else. The laundry can wait, Netflix isn’t going anywhere, and honestly, I can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be. That’s what Just Chill added to my evening, and it’s why I’m so fond of it.

CBX and chill? Don’t mind if I do. 🍇💜
