KUSH JP CBN Gorilla: First Impressions

This might genuinely be the best-tasting altnoid I’ve tried in Japan so far. The second I opened it, I got hit with that leafy, dank, nostalgic Gorilla Glue smell — the kind that instantly transports you back to “the real stuff” days. Or in my case, Canada. Two hits in and I actually laughed out loud a little because… wait. THIS is legal? Yes!

The terp profile absolutely carries this one. Earthy cannabis notes, subtle pine, a little citrus brightness, and then this faint sweet-and-sour chocolatey diesel thing that weirdly lingers on your tongue in the best way possible. If you know Gorilla Glue/GG#4, they honestly nailed it. No weird artificial flavor. No chemical harshness. Just smooth cannabis-derived terps doing exactly what they’re supposed to do.

And importantly: this really isn’t a “get wrecked” vape. CBN is known much more for relaxation and sleep support than psychoactive effects, and Kush JP CBN Gorilla leans heavily into that cozy side. If you absolutely chain-vape it into oblivion you might notice a tiny floaty buzz behind the eyes, but overall this feels far closer to a mood-softener or mental vacation than an actual high.

The Effects

For a cartridge that is non-psychoactive, the effects surprised me. At first, there’s a gentle little lift — not stimulation exactly, more like relief. Your brain unclenches slightly. The laundry suddenly feels less offensive. Your shoulders drop an inch. Life stops yelling at you for a minute. Then about 20–30 minutes later, the relaxation really settles in.

Not knockout sedation. Not “staring at the wall questioning reality.” Just mellow, cozy, calm. The kind where doomscrolling suddenly loses its grip on you and you peacefully exist for awhile instead. I can absolutely see why so many people use CBN in the evenings or as a sleep-support cannabinoid.

It also feels incredibly beginner-friendly. If you’re curious about altnoids but nervous about getting “too high,” this is honestly one of the safest-feeling entry points I’ve tried in Japan. No paranoia, no racing thoughts, no overwhelming head rush. Just soft body relaxation, a nicer mood, and enough calm to gently ease you toward sleep later on.

And because Japan’s CBN ban officially takes effect on June 1, this cartridge also feels like a bit of a farewell tour for one of the nicest, most approachable cannabinoids out there.

Final Thoughts

The good news? It’s currently on sale (hooray). The bad news? Kush JP says it’ll be discontinued from May 25 onward in order to comply with the upcoming ban.

So if you’ve been curious about CBN — especially in a form that tastes genuinely fantastic and doesn’t leave you glued to the couch — this feels like a pretty lovely last hurrah. And for something heavier (and very psychoactive!), don’t forget my tried, trusted and true, Couch Lock.

Keep it legally lifted 🍃
