One of the biggest questions hanging over Japan’s cannabinoid community leading up to the June 1 CBN ban was simple: “What happens to all of our favorite products?” Personally, I was NOT looking forward to losing one of my favorites in particular, Couch Lock. But apparently, I fell asleep at the wheel somewhere, because I didn’t realize until TODAY that many of the most popular Kush JP reformulated products were already available.
That’s right! The good news is that Kush JP has reformulated its lineup to comply with Japan’s updated regulations, meaning popular products like Couch Lock, Afghan Kush SUPER Hybrid, and others remain available. Rather than disappearing entirely, these products have been updated with new cannabinoid blends designed to comply with current regulations while preserving the experiences users enjoyed before the changes.
In most cases, you’ll notice more CBD and H4CBD stepping in to replace CBN. Is it exactly the same? No… But it’s close. After trying several of the new formulations myself, Kush JP seems to have done an impressive job maintaining the overall feel of the originals. The cannabinoid-to-terpene balance remains remarkably familiar, making some of these reformulated versions surprisingly difficult to distinguish from their predecessors.
As always, reformulations can result in subtle differences, and individual experiences may vary. But the fact that these products are still available at all is likely welcome news for many people who expected their favorites to vanish after June 1.
I’ll continue testing and reviewing reformulated products as they become available and will update existing reviews where appropriate so readers can easily see which articles reflect older formulations and which reflect current versions.
