5 Osaka Cannabinoid Shops I’d Visit Again — or Have on My List

I went to Nagoya. I’m heading to Tokyo. And on my recent trip to Osaka, I set aside some time to explore the city’s legal cannabinoid retail scene in person. I wanted to see which shops were out there, what kinds of products they carried, how the spaces felt and what the current retail landscape looked like beyond the tidy little pixels of an online shop.

I visited anonymously, without introducing myself as Mary Jane or mentioning the blog, and kept this guide focused on the useful stuff: where each shop is, what it carries and one or two things that caught my eye along the way. Consider it a little boots-on-the-ground browsing, minus the trench coat and fake moustache.

If you’re planning some altnoid shopping in Osaka yourself, these are five legal cannabinoid shops I’d happily visit again, or in one case, have firmly planted on my list for next time.

1. Cannabis Club Osaka — Amerikamura

Tucked into Nishi-Shinsaibashi at 2-17-13 Nishi-Shinsaibashi, Growth Nishi-Shinsaibashi Building 2F-B2, Cannabis Club Osaka is conveniently placed for anyone already exploring Amerikamura, Namba or Shinsaibashi. The shop sits on the second floor of a chicken wing joint and currently opens daily, although as always in Japan, it’s worth double-checking current hours before making a special trip.

This is one of my personal favourites for one very simple reason: the product selection. Cannabis Club carries Knockout products, among other brands, and anyone who has spent much time around Mary Jane already knows I have a bit of a soft spot for Knockout. Seeing products I already know and enjoy sitting on an actual Osaka shelf earns immediate points with me.

I found the shopping experience fairly self-directed, so this is probably a place I’d recommend most enthusiastically to someone who already has at least a vague idea of what they’re looking for. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes you want a lengthy cannabinoid conversation and sometimes you want to browse the shelves in peace like the independent little raccoon you are. For experienced shoppers especially, there’s plenty here worth investigating.

What I liked: One of the strongest all-around product selections of the shops I visited, particularly if you already follow some of Japan’s better-known altnoid brands.

2. Weedyyz — Amerikamura and Higashi-Shinsaibashi

Weedyyz currently has two Osaka locations, and I visited the Amerikamura shop near Triangle Park (1-16-12 Nishi-Shinsaibashi, New American Plaza Building 2F). The Amemura branch is only a few minutes from Shinsaibashi Station and carries cannabinoid products alongside vape liquids, edibles, concentrates, devices and accessories. Weedyyz also has a second location in Higashi-Shinsaibashi (2-5-6 Higashi-Shinsaibashi, Tsukushi Kaikan 2F), which leans much harder into Osaka’s nighttime culture and stays open considerably later.

That day-versus-night split makes perfect sense after visiting. During the day, I found the Amemura shop quiet, chilled-out and easy to browse. I suspect the Weedyyz experience gets rather more lively after I have already changed into my pyjamas.

The selection isn’t enormous, but Weedyyz has the advantage of being its own established cannabinoid brand rather than simply a room full of whatever happens to be available. Its current lineup includes CBD and CBG products along with vape products, edibles, concentrates and hardware, and the brand puts considerable emphasis on its own formulations and devices.

What I liked: Weedyyz feels cohesive. Rather than trying to stock absolutely everything, it feels like a shop built around a particular brand and vibe, and I’ve generally found Weedyyz products worth paying attention to.

3. GOODCHILL Osaka Sakuragawa — Sakuragawa

GOODCHILL’s Osaka location sits in Sakuragawa (Erindale Sakuragawa 306, 2-2-24 Saiwaicho, Naniwa-ku, Osaka), within walking distance of both Sakuragawa Station and JR Namba. The shop currently operates from mid-afternoon into the evening, making it an easy detour if you’re already around Namba but want to escape the busiest shopping streets for a bit. One useful heads-up: GOODCHILL is tucked inside what feels much more like an apartment building than a traditional storefront. So if you arrive at the address and briefly wonder whether Google Maps has led you into someone’s residential life, don’t panic. You’re probably in the right place. Head on in.

GOODCHILL is part of the wider CHILLAXY family, and the current range extends well beyond basic CBD. Across the GOODCHILL lineup you’ll find 510 liquids, edibles, vape hardware and smoking accessories. The company also emphasizes third-party testing and openly published product information. This is definitely more toward the premium-priced end of the Osaka cannabinoid-shopping spectrum. But I’ve also found GOODCHILL and CHILLAXY products to be interesting, high-quality and well presented, so this is one I’d browse when I’m more interested in quality and curiosity than bargain hunting.

What I liked: The more curated, premium feel. It’s a good stop when you want to see what one of Japan’s more established cannabinoid retail networks is currently doing.

4. CBD OSAKA — Umeda

CBD OSAKA gets major points before we even discuss what’s inside because the location is ridiculously convenient. It’s on the first floor of Osaka Ekimae Dai-2 Building, right in the Osaka/Umeda area, which makes it especially useful for travellers who don’t want to venture down to Shinsaibashi every time they need a cannabinoid shop.

Officially, CBD OSAKA is a VAPE and CBD specialist carrying CBD liquids, oils, vape devices and other cannabinoid products. It’s also one of KUSH JP’s current physical retailers. I’ve shopped here myself, and one thing I particularly appreciated was seeing familiar KUSH JP products available in person, including CBD PRO and CBG PRO when I visited. Ordering online is wonderfully convenient until you become the sort of person who actually enjoys standing in front of a shelf comparing little cannabinoid bottles like someone’s mother choosing pasta sauce.

For visitors who prefer more traditional CBD and CBG products, vape hardware, or want somewhere convenient around Osaka Station, I think this is a particularly useful shop to know.

What I liked: Location, location, location — plus the chance to pick up KUSH JP products without waiting for the postman.

5. TERP HEADS — Nipponbashi

And finally, one I haven’t personally visited yet, because I refuse to pretend this is one of those suspicious travel guides where the writer has apparently experienced every square metre of Osaka.

TERP HEADS is in Nipponbashi (3F, 4-7-28 Nipponbashi, Naniwa-ku, Osaka), around a five-minute walk from Ebisucho Station. It’s connected with WING CBD and takes a somewhat nerdier approach than your average CBD shop, specializing in things like CBD and CBG materials, CDT and botanical terpenes, 510 atomizers, vape devices, smoking accessories and related equipment. WING also publishes COAs for its cannabinoid materials.

If you’re brand new to cannabinoids and simply want somebody to hand you a straightforward CBD product, there are easier places to begin. If phrases like “CDT terpenes” and “510 atomizers” make you lean toward the screen instead of slowly backing away, TERP HEADS might be exactly the sort of rabbit hole you’re looking for. In other words, this one immediately caught my otaku-like attention. And now it’s firmly on my list for my next Osaka cannabinoid expedition.

What I like: The specialist angle. Japan’s cannabinoid scene isn’t only about finished cartridges and gummies, and TERP HEADS looks like an interesting stop for people who enjoy understanding the bits, pieces and flavours behind the final product.

A Few Things to Know Before Altnoid Shopping in Osaka

Japan’s cannabinoid market changes quickly, and product availability can change right along with it. Something I saw on a shelf during one visit may be sold out, reformulated or replaced the next time you arrive, so I always recommend checking a shop’s current website or social media before travelling across town for one specific product.

The same applies to cannabinoid regulations. Just because you recognise a cannabinoid name from an old review, Reddit post or ancient corner of Google does not automatically mean products containing it remain available for ordinary retail sale today. Stick with reputable retailers, check current product information and, when in doubt, ask.

Most importantly, there isn’t really one “best” cannabinoid shop in Osaka. Cannabis Club appeals to me for selection and familiar altnoid brands. Weedyyz has its own distinctive products and culture. GOODCHILL sits toward the more premium and curated end. CBD OSAKA is wonderfully practical, particularly for CBD, CBG and KUSH JP shoppers around Umeda. TERP HEADS scratches the itch for anyone who wants to get a little more technical.

And that is exactly why I like exploring these places in person. Online shopping tells me what I can buy. Walking into the shops tells me what Japan’s cannabinoid scene actually looks like.

Next up: Tokyo.

Until then, keep it lifted, legally. 🍃
